About Us

Founded in 2004 by a visionary group of bowlers, Capital Area Match Point (CAMP) began with a commitment to innovation and excellence in the bowling community. Initially based at U.S. Bowling Alexandria, CAMP relocated to Bowl America/Bowlero Falls Church in 2009, where it has continued to thrive ever since.

The league, which started with just 13 teams in 2012, achieved a significant milestone in 2015 under the dedicated leadership of its officers by utilizing every lane available in the bowling center, expanding to 32 teams. Even during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic years of 2020 and 2021, CAMP maintained a robust presence with 16 teams.

The 2021/22 season marked a historic achievement for CAMP as it filled every lane in the center, hosting 48 full teams—a testament to the league’s remarkable growth and enduring success. As other leagues faced decline or closure, CAMP has emerged as the league of choice for bowlers in the region.

In 2024, CAMP proudly celebrates its 20th anniversary and looks forward to the future with exciting changes. The league is transitioning to a 501(c)(7) status, introducing new divisions, securing sponsors, and implementing various enhancements to further elevate the experience for its members.

The current officers extend their heartfelt gratitude to all past and present leaders whose dedication and hard work have been instrumental in shaping CAMP into the distinguished league it is today.
